Our Sensory Clinic
Our sensory clinic provides a therapeutic environment where your child receives a personalized sensory plan to enhance their ability to calm, focus, and regulate. By promoting body regulation, we aim to help your child better prepare for learning and social interaction. Our dedicated occupational therapy team is here to assist with sensory processing disorder, hyperactivity, and autism spectrum disorder, offering specialized support tailored to your child's unique needs.
aUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER
Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) often have complex needs such as sensory concerns, poor motor skills, social impairments, and advanced communication difficulties.
Our board-certified autism team has the experience to help. We provide early identification of red flags that may indicate an autism diagnosis, parent interview with ongoing communication, a tailor-made plan of care, and parent training of problematic issues experienced at home. We are able to address communication skills, language skills, social skills, and associated behaviors. PLEASE NOTE: Our program requires a high level of parent involvement. Parents are encouraged to be active participant in therapy in order to learn strategies beyond our therapy center. Initially we strive to maintain the same therapist, so the child can progress in developing needed skills. As the program develops, other therapy providers may be introduced. Progression of skills is our #1 priority. |
AAC Communication
Many individuals with autism need a higher level of visual support than the average learner. Often we incorporate communication boards in treatment programs, as some individuals are non-verbal communicators. Other children use communication boards as a bridge to assist in verbal communication skills, or to help sequence their thoughts into words. Giving your child this tool can, boost their self confidence and help reduce the level of frustration felt by the entire family.
Social Skill Training
Often children with high functioning autism, Asperger's syndrome, ADHD, and social anxiety struggle with communicating and making friends. At Beyond Speech Therapy we teach children interactive friendship skills.
