Board Certified Autism Specialist

Support for Pre-verbal Children on the Autism Spectrum

Caring for a pre‑verbal child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) can bring unique challenges—sensory sensitivities, motor delays, communication frustrations, and difficulties with social connection. Our team is here to walk beside you with compassionate, specialized support designed specifically for your child’s developmental needs.

Early Understanding & Timely Support

We focus on recognizing early signs of autism so your child can receive the right interventions as soon as possible. Early support can make a meaningful difference in communication, learning, and overall development.

Partnership With Parents

You know your child best. Through thoughtful parent interviews and ongoing communication, we learn your child’s strengths, challenges, and daily routines. This collaboration helps us create a plan that truly fits your child.

Individualized Care Plans

Every child is unique—so their therapy should be too. We design personalized treatment plans that may address:

  • Communication and expressive attempts
  • Early language development
  • Social engagement and interaction
  • Sensory processing needs
  • Fine and gross motor skills
  • Associated behaviors and emotional regulation

Parent Training & Support

We believe parents should feel confident and empowered. We offer practical tools and strategies you can use at home, and you are always welcome into the therapy process—just step right through our door.

How We Help Your Child Grow

Our comprehensive therapy services may include:

  • Communication Support: Building ways for your child to express themselves, including gestures, signs, AAC, and early verbal attempts.
  • Language Development: Encouraging understanding, imitation, and early word use.
  • Social Skills: Supporting joint attention, play, turn‑taking, and meaningful interaction.
  • Sensory Regulation: Helping your child manage sensory sensitivities and feel more comfortable in their world.
  • Behavior Support: Guiding positive behaviors and helping your child navigate frustration or overwhelm.

At our center, we understand the joys and challenges of raising a child with ASD. We’re here to provide skilled care, gentle guidance, and unwavering support—because your child deserves every opportunity to thrive.

In order to get a symbol communicator parents must become a symbol communicator.

AAC Communication

To all the incredible parents out there supporting children with autism, we see you. We understand the unique challenges you face and the unwavering dedication you show each day.

Many children with autism benefit greatly from visual supports tailored to their needs. For some, communication boards become essential tools in their daily lives. Whether a child is non-verbal or needs assistance organizing their thoughts into words, these boards serve as bridges to effective communication.

Offering your child tools isn't just about improving their ability to communicate. It's about boosting their self-confidence and minimizing the frustration that can sometimes overwhelm the entire family.

By incorporating communication boards and/ or a communication device, into treatment programs, you're providing a vital resource that can transform your child's life and strengthen family bonds.

Using an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) iPad can greatly help nonverbal individuals in several ways:

  • Enhanced Communication: Apps like Proloquo2Go and TD Snap Core allow users to express their needs, thoughts, and emotions through symbols, text, and synthesized speech, reducing frustration and improving interactions.
  • Increased Independence: Users can communicate on their own without needing someone to interpret their gestures or sounds.
  • Social Inclusion: AAC devices enable nonverbal individuals to participate more fully in social interactions, which helps reduce feelings of isolation.
  • Customizable and Portable: iPads are portable and can be tailored with different apps to fit the user's specific needs, making them a practical option for many families.
  • Support for Language Development: Using AAC can aid both nonverbal and verbal communication skills, complementing speech therapy by providing additional ways to practice language skills.
